Common Questions

1. Why are there white spots at the bottom of my kettle?
These are not stains or defects; they are limescale deposits caused by minerals in hard water. Boiling a mixture of water and vinegar (or lemon juice) once a month will dissolve these spots and keep the heating element efficient.
2. Is it necessary to keep the lid closed while boiling water?
Yes, it is mandatory to keep the lid closed while boiling water. When the water is boiled, the cutoff switch works when the steam touches the switch. If the lid is open, steam will escape without touching the control switch leads to malfunction.
3. Can I boil milk or make tea directly in the kettle?
Kettles are designed only for boiling water. Boiling milk can cause it to burn at the bottom, sticking to the heating element and damaging the sensor.
4. What is "Dry run Protection"?
This is a safety feature. If you accidentally switch on the kettle without water, the sensor detects the rapid rise in temperature and automatically cuts off the power to prevent the coil from melting.
5. Can I wash the kettle under a running tap?
You can rinse the inside but never immerse the kettle or the power base in water. The bottom of the kettle has electrical pins that must stay bone-dry. Always wipe the exterior with a damp cloth only.
